1. South India (Part 1)
The Hairy Bikers roar back into action with a madcap tour of South India, starting in Madras, now known
as Chennai, a riot of hustle and bustle and colours and flavours and bullock carts, and heat, lots of heat!
They keep bumping into ancient temples and elephants, as they discover a cuisine that's very different
from the Northern Indian food that the world's used to. After a day foraging in fragrant Kumuli, India's
spice central, they head through the jungle to a maharajah's lake palace, where they cook up a storm,
and meet some more elephants!
2. South India (Part 2)
The Hairy Ones travel through the Cardamom Hills high up into tea country, where the Raj still lingers,
and Si finds an astonishing piece of his family history. They're heading across the beautiful mountains
towards Kerala and its cultural capital of Cochin, where they find themselves on stage taking part in
the ancient classical dance of Kathakali, after hours of being painted, dressed and masked! In the
paradise-like backwaters of Allepey, they commandeer a traditional wicker houseboat and cook up a
local delicacy of fish and coconuts. And then they have to do some washing up, jumping in the river with
a flock of elephants!
3. Argentina (Part 1)
The Hairy Ones are in the world's eighth biggest country, dividing their time between the full-on urban
buzz of Buenos Aires, and the beauty of a traditional estancia, or ranch. In the capital, they risk their
partner's life and limbs in a sultry tango, then knock up some half-time empanadas in the shadow of the
Boca Juniors stadium, accompanied by a strangely familiar footballer. Meanwhile back at the ranch, the
Mother of All Barbies is well underway, with Si & Dave providing some unusual salads to accompany
the meatfest.
4. Argentina (Part 2)
It's time for Dave Myers & Si King to head south, leaving Buenos Aires behind as they begin their long
ride to Patagonia. They feast on the magical cheeses of Tandil, then try their luck in the South Atlantic,
at the shark-fishing mecca of Bahia San Blas. Then it's off to the extraordinary Peninsula Valdes, where
they compare bellies with giant elephant seals, and are for once left speechless as massive Southern
Right Whales surround their boat. They cook sea bass on the beach, and Patagonian lamb in a village
where they still speak Welsh - and get a tattoo as a memento.
5. Belgium (Part 1)
Si and Dave hop the Channel and find themselves in the alternative universe of Belgium, birthplace of
surrealism and the finest chips in the world. In the perfect medieval town of Bruges, they get lost in the
medieval one-way system and their Bikers GPS is no help! They fall back on the local beers - all 300 of
them - for help, and discover the wonderful world of beer cookery. Then they find themselves in a village
which is headquarters to a very strange and ancient local bird-related sport, and they make a mysterious
meal of it.
6. Belgium (Part 2)
Things get really surreal in Brussels when Si and Dave meet a statue of Tintin and walk their way into
a Magritte painting, and then try to corner a couple of Members of the European Parliament to find out
what's happening to Europe's traditional foods. The Boys have to chase the MEPs all the way into
France, to Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace-Lorraine, where they discover that real men do eat quiche!
Then back to Belgium for a spot of wild boar-hunting in the Forest of the Ardennes, after which the
Hairies decide to feed a posse of Belgium cowboys a stew of boar and beer, and they sure rile'em up!
And throughout all this, the Great White Rabbit...
7. Morocco (Part 1)
The Boys begin their adventures in Marrakech, where Si acquires a carpet and Dave acquires a King
Cobra on his head. After treating the locals to a Kefta Tagine cooked in the city's historic square, they
go back to school to learn how to cook a classic pastilla. Then it's the ride of a lifetime over the Atlas
mountains, interrupted by a spot of unlikely skiing. Fortified with a banging harira soup cooked on the
piste, they head off to a tiny Berber village, where a whole lamb is roasted in their honour, and Dave
responds with some exotic dancing...
8. Morocco (Part 2)
Si and Dave head into the film town of Ouarzazate, or "Hollywood with camels", as they describe it. On
the roofs of the old medina, they learn the secrets of the tagine and traditional bread-making, then put
their new skills to the test on a massive, disused film set. But getting ever closer is the Lisbon-Dakar
Rally, and the Boys head off to check out one of the world's greatest off-road races. Having temporarily
swapped the bikes for camels in the Sahara (and enjoyed a sand-bath), they rustle up a classic
medfouna before the next stage of the Rally roars into the dawn.
