A once handsome Englishman (Ralph Fiennes), now burned beyond recognition in a horrible plane crash, spends his final days in an abandoned Italian village. While under the care of a kind nurse (Juliette Binoche), he remembers his torrid affair in the African desert with his colleague’s wife Katharine (Kristin Scott-Thomas) in this sweeping and poetic World War II epic.
