This romantic period drama is set in 16th century Venice and tells a true story of a beautiful young woman, Veronica Franco (Catherine McCormack), who becomes a courtesan after learning that she may not marry her beloved prince (Rufus Sewell). She is schooled by her mother (Jacqueline Bisset) to become the most popular and respected fallen woman in Venice, sought by princes, generals and merchants.
