Festival In Cannes

Anouk Aimee, Greta Scacchi,
Ron Silver, Maximilian Schell
Paramount Classics; Directed by Henry Jaglom
Rated PG-13; 99 minutes; 2002

This documentary of sorts by independent filmmaker Jenry Jaglom was filmed entirely in the south of France at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001. The film focuses on the crazed and obsessive lives of the actors, actresses, writers, directors producers, agents, managers and wannabes, all of whom come together for two weeks each May. The beautiful setting of this film belies the desperation and sometimes sleazy acts of people who will do anything to get what they want in the film industry. This film features many cameos from stars such as Faye Dunaway, William Shatner, Jeff Goldblum, and Holly Hunter.

"Daffy, engrossing, enlightening and entertaining."
-- Rex Reed, NEW YORK OBSERVER

"For all the wit and hoopla, Festival In Cannes offers rare insight into the structure of relationships."

-- Liz Braun, JAM! MOVIES

"An amused indictment of Jaglom's own profession."
--
Andy Klein, NEW TIMES LOS ANGELES
