Alex is a writer with a gambling problem whose debts have put him deep in the hole with a loan shark. He must finish a novel in the next thirty days to pay off his debts but has been struck with a tragic case of writer’s block. He comes up with the idea to hire a stenographer so he can just concentrate on the ideas. As he begins to dictate his love triangle story to Emma, she challenges all of his thoughts. While he is at first irritated by her intrusion her insights on love intrigue him and soon it becomes as case of life imitating art.
